Rebuild recordings that were cut off by a dead battery, a full card or an overheat shutdown. Free preview. Your footage never leaves your computer. Nothing is uploaded.
Drop your .RSV file onto the page. Your browser reads the camera’s own settings, picture and sound from it. Nothing is uploaded.
Watch and hear the first 15 seconds of your recovered clip, free, before you decide.
Happy with it? Pay once for that file: £15, £25 or £39 by size. Not happy? Click No thanks and nothing is charged.
The full repair saves straight to your computer, with picture and sound in sync. Fixing the same file again is free.
Copy the whole card to your computer before trying anything, and don’t format it or record over it until you’ve got your clip back. Then choose the .RSV here. Everything needed to rebuild it is read from the .RSV itself.
Tested on the a7S III. Built for any Sony body recording XAVC S, XAVC HS or XAVC S-I, such as the FX3, FX30, FX6, a7 IV, a7R V, a7C II and a6700. The free preview tells you in seconds whether your clip can be fixed.
While a Sony camera records, it writes the clip to the card as a temporary .RSV file and turns it into a normal .MP4 when you stop. If the battery dies, the card fills up or the camera overheats, that last step never happens and you’re left with an .RSV that won’t open. The picture and sound are usually all still inside it.
No. The repair runs entirely in your browser on your own computer. Your video never leaves it. We only receive a short fingerprint of the file (so you never pay twice for the same clip) and the details of your payment.
The preview is free. Saving the full recovery is a one-time payment per file, by its size: £15 under 4 GB, £25 for 4–20 GB and £39 for 20 GB and over, shown on the button in your own currency before you commit. Fixing the same file again, later or on another computer, is free. Pricing
You see the preview before paying, so you know it works. If a paid repair fails, contact us with the file name and you get your money back. Refunds
Yes, guaranteed. Every sound block is placed at the moment its frames start. If part of the card was damaged, the last good picture is held and silence fills the lost sound, so everything after it stays in sync. If your repaired clip is ever out of sync, you get your money back.
A normal QuickTime .MOV file with the original picture and sound, untouched (nothing is re-encoded). It saves straight to your Downloads folder and opens in Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, QuickTime and VLC.
Chrome, Edge or Safari on a Mac or Windows computer. The preview of H.265 clips needs a browser that can play H.265; the repair itself works either way. Phones and tablets can’t handle files this large.
